A door-knocking tracker your campaign runs itself.

Pick your riding or municipality and DoorKnock builds the door list from public map data. Your campaign keeps it, along with every knock, in your own Google account. Any campaign can use it, whatever party.

How it starts

  1. Copy the template sheet.

    One click puts a Google Sheet and its script into your own Drive. You own it.

  2. Choose your area from the sheet's DoorKnock menu.

    A panel opens, you pick the country, the kind of race and the district, and your copy downloads that door list straight into your own Drive.

  3. Add your canvassers.

    Each person gets a code of their own. Knocks are signed with the name on that list, so nobody can log under someone else's, and taking a person off stops their code working straight away.

  4. Publish the coordinator page.

    Two clicks in the Apps Script editor give you a private link showing every door on a map, coloured by what happened there. Drag a box to hand an area to a canvasser.

  5. Canvassers scan their own code.

    The coordinator page shows each person a code to scan once. After that they knock, tap a result, and it lands in your sheet, working offline and catching up when there is signal.

What we hold

Public map data, and only that

Boundaries from government map services, addresses and building outlines from Overture Maps. That is all this site serves, and it is the same for everyone.

Nothing of your campaign's

Your knocks, your canvassers and your areas live in your own Google account. This site never asks to sign in to Google, so it holds no key to it either.

Knocks are recorded against an address, never against a resident's name, so no political preference is ever tied to a person. Canvassing data can carry legal obligations that vary by jurisdiction, and your campaign is responsible for its own. Check with someone qualified before you go door to door.

What you need

A Google account for the campaign, and a phone each for the canvassers. Nothing to install on a computer, no billing account, no map keys. The door list for a whole federal riding is under a megabyte.
